On March 30th, Chicago DJ Oliver Vasilopoulos set up and entertained a wedding at Venuti’s in Addison, Illinois. Oliver Vasilopoulos is one of A Posh Production’s most talented Chicago DJs. This was the first official Chicago wedding of the season for Oliver and it was an excellent way to start the season! The bride Christine Delmuro and groom Brian Acosta invited over one hundred guests to their Italian and Spanish themed wedding. Oliver Vasilopoulos actually met the lovely bride at a Bridal Show in Rosemont and they hit it off immediately.
Oliver was a big help for Christine who was planning the wedding mostly on her own. The groom Brian is currently serving in the military and was stationed elsewhere. Brian was only given time off for the wedding and honeymoon. Brian looked very handsome dressed in his blues for the wedding though! All the staff at A Posh Production was there to help Christine plan her special event every step of the way.
Oliver went above and beyond for this Chicago wedding. Not only did he DJ for six straight hours, but he also was the lighting specialist and production specialist for the event. Oliver was very particular with the placement of every purple uplight and white pin spots to make sure everything looked perfect with the bride’s colors which were lavender and light green. Venuti’s was also able to change the ceiling accent colors to a lovely pale green which looked amazing with the uplights and the bride’s colors. The staff at Venuti’s was very accommodating and excellent people for Oliver to work with.
The audience was very diverse as far as age which allowed Oliver to play a wide variety of great dance music. The evening started with traditional Italian and wedding songs. As the night progressed, the bride and groom were able to show off their own personal music taste. Electronic dance music was played during introductions which set a lively and energetic tone for the entire night. The dance floor was packed with guests having a fantastic time all night long. The groom even requested the Harlem Shake twice! Oliver actually brought out and used his vinyl turn tables during the wedding. Needless to say, this Chicago wedding was truly enjoyable for Oliver!
Highlights of the night included a traditional garter and bouquet toss and the high energy introductions. Speeches were touching and special. Brian actually spoke about every special relationship he had with each of his groomsmen. It was a compassionate and loving moment for everyone at the wedding. The bride and groom decided to have an anniversary dance which was very romantic. During the anniversary dance, couples are eliminated according to the length of the time they are married. At the end there was three couples left who had been married for over forty years. An anniversary dance is a great way to entertain your guests and it also is a way to celebrate marriage and other couples at the wedding.
This event was by far one of the best Chicago weddings A Posh Production has seen and worked at this season. We love working with great clients like Christine and Brian and entertaining a wonderful crowd of guests.
