    Q. Why are the prices between some DJ companies so different

    The value of your experience should never be based solely on the prices a DJ company provides.     Q. Aren’t all DJ companies basically the same?

    Actually, no, not all DJ companies are the same! DJ companies vary greatly in the size, style of performance and the quality of service they offer. Some companies offer services such as props and party favors, while others choose a more formal approach through using DJ’s with backgrounds as Masters of Ceremony. Before you book your event with a company, it is always best to meet with your potential DJ to see if you are a good fit.

    Q. When does the DJ set up?

    Depending on the package and the availability of the room, the DJ will be there 1 to 3 hours before the event begins to set up equipment and run sound checks

    Q. What does the DJ wear?

    Our disc jockeys always wear the appropriate attire for any event. The normal dress for wedding receptions is a suit and tie. If you would prefer more formal attire, additional arrangements can be made.

    Q. How loud will the music be?

    During cocktail hour and the dinner, the music we play will be at a background level to ensure it is heard throughout the entire room but not too distracting or loud for normal conversation. Once the dancing begins, the speakers will be focused on the dance floor so the volume level will be considerably louder on the dance floor than the rest of the room. If you would like the music little louder or quieter than average, please let us know and we would be more than happy to accommodate you.

    Q. How long will the DJ play?

    The DJ for your event will play for the full contracted time of your package without breaks. This usually includes an hour or two of background music for cocktail hour and dinner along with dance music later on during your event. Additional time can be booked at the event at the discretion of the banquet hall and if it does not create scheduling conflicts.

    Q. Do your DJ’s use CD’s or MP3’s?

    Our DJ’s use both CD’s and MP3’s for your event. We bring our CD libraries to your event, as well as computers, to ensure a wide variety of selection for you and your guests. We choose MP3 files with a high bit rate to ensure a quality recording. When working with our DJ’s, you will not notice a difference between the two formats. We also bring CD’s for reliability. If our computer equipment were to fail, we will still have our CD song library for your use. Your special dances will be played off of CD to ensure the best quality and transition between songs at your event.     Q. Can we pick what music gets played at the event?

    Absolutely! Before your big event, talk to your DJ about your specialty songs and “must play” requests. If you are looking for a particular song and for some reason it is not in our library, you may add it to your request list and we will obtain it for you. You should also talk to your DJ about types of music or specific songs you do not want played at your event. You can be as involved as you like in the selection of music for your reception, or leave it all up to our experienced disc jockeys.

    Q. Do you just play music?

    No good DJ just plays music! At A Posh Production, our DJ’s are highly skilled professionals that work with you to plan your event. Our DJ’s will also work with your photographer, videographer and banquet hall to make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes while you have fun. On the day of your event, our DJ’s arrive early to assemble music, meet with you one last time before the big show starts, and set up the system. Once the event begins, they will handle all the introductions and announcements as Master of Ceremonies. Working with your other vendors, our DJ’s will ensure everything goes just as planned, all while taking guest requests and reading the crowd to keep your dance floor packed and your guests happy!

    Q. How do we submit our information?

    All of your planning forms and music request lists can be completed at your convenience through the client section of our website. Please finalize your event information the week prior to your event. At that time, your DJ will call you to discuss everything in detail and ensure that they know exactly how you want everything to go.

    Q. How do we reserve your services?

    Of course! Our staff and your disc jockey will be available to you throughout the planning process to help answer any questions you might have, from music selection to the best in lighting and décor for your big event.

    Q. How do we submit our information?

    If you would like to reserve a date, complete the booking form in the client section of our website and submit it with a non-refundable 30% deposit. The client section of our website also helps couples during their wedding planning process, making A Posh Production one of the premiere wedding DJ and planning sites for Chicago couples!

    Q. How far will you travel?

    We have performed all over Illinois and the United States. However, additional travel charges apply outside of the Chicago area.

    Q. What happens if the equipment breaks?

    We only use the best DJ equipment that is regularly inspected and maintained. Equipment failures are extremely rare. However, in case something does malfunction, our systems carry extra equipment so that if one item is not functioning properly, it can be replaced on the spot

    Q. What if the DJ is no longer with the company or becomes unavailable on the date of the event?

    With your approval, we will substitute a DJ who is just as talented and has a similar style to your original DJ.

    Q. What if the DJ gets sick?

    If, for some reason, a DJ is unable to make an event, we have back up DJs available. We also have standing agreements with other DJ companies to provide emergency services as a last resort.

    Q. Do you have insurance?

    Yes, we have a $3,000,000 property and liability policy.

    Q.Do you use contracts?

    Yes. Every event booked with A Posh Production uses a detailed contract with a list of requirements for each party. This protects from any possible discrepancies.

    Q. Are there any additional charges?

    Unlike some DJ companies, we do not charge extra for events in downtown Chicago. We believe this sets us apart from other companies because we do not think having an event downtown means you should pay more!
