A Posh Production had the opportunity to provide high-quality lighting services for Katie and Nick’s wedding reception March 24th, 2012. The reception, hosted at Palos Country Club near Chicago, called for uplighting and Italian string lighting. However, like with many events, not everything goes as smoothly in the beginning. We were able to provide high-quality services and some problem-solving skills to avoid what could have been an uninspiring look at the country club.
The bride and groom booked A Posh Production in July of 2011 when Palos Country Club was under different management. The original management gave A Posh Production (Event Lighting Chicago) the go-ahead to rig from their rafters and install rigging points to do it safely since the hall didn’t have proper rigging points installed. As with every event, we confirmed a week in advance with the bride and the venue for the setup. However, the staff changed completely and told us we were not allowed to install proper rigging points.
Chicago DJ and Owner of A Posh Production Matt Windsor took a last-minute trip to the venue two days before the wedding to discuss with the staff at Palos Country Club what and why we needed to install the rigging points.
In the end, everything worked out great. Matt and Wil arrived around 2:00pm to start setting up lighting for the wedding. The bride and groom wanted to change the venue up with four strands of Italian string lighting hung above the dance floor. The wedding started at 5:30pm, but Matt and Wil were done well ahead of schedule. The bride and groom arrived at 4:30pm to see their reception venue changed and were very happy with the way A Posh Production transformed the room.
