Room 1520, located in the heart of the artistic West Loop neighborhood of Chicago, is a restored historical loft building frequently used for corporate and social events in the city. With high ceilings, polished floors, portrait windows and exposed brick, Room 1520 is a high-end space that many couples love to use for their weddings. A Posh Production had the opportunity to provide lighting for such an event at Room 1520 on April 14th, 2012.
As one of our favorite venues to light, Room 1520 provides an incredible blank canvas with endless possibilities in event lighting. Bride Rachel hired us to provide 20 LED uplights for her wedding reception at Room 1520. However, as the wedding date grew nearer, Rachel worried the red uplights she chose would darken the room too much.
Dan Kasky, lighting technician for A Posh Production, studied the space and suggested a different layout that included lighting the pillars in amber. This effect brightened the room and gave the space a finished look. With 17 Italian crystal chandeliers and an artisan staircase in the grand entrance, making an impression at Room 1520 with the lighting helped tie this event together.
In the end, 25 lights were used around the room. We provided the extra 5 lights at no additional cost. At a Posh , we believe in providing quality customer service and focus on the finished product rather than providing the minimum equipment for your event lighting needs. We enjoyed working with the staff at Room 1520 and are excited to be there many times again this year.
